"How would you judge the lawfulness or unlawfulness of "pleasure?"
Use this rule: Whatever weakens your reason, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sight of God, takes from you your thirst for spiritual things or increases the authority of your body over your mind, then that thing to you is evil.By this test you may detect evil no matter how subtly or how plausibly temptation may be presented to you." — Susanna WesleyHave you ever spilled a cup of something by accident? It's not quite the same as intentionally pouring that same thing out. In my last entry I shared on the topic of having a "full cup". I ask simply,
what is in your cup today? Whatever the answer, I invite you to pour it out, empty it. I do that by admitting daily my specific failures, confessing to the Lord that I need His forgiveness for filling my cup full of many things He never intended to be in my heart/life. Once I have emptied my cup of confession a miracle happens, my cup can be filled again. I ask for that filling from the Lord Jesus each morning during a time of study & prayer. I want to extend this special invitation to each of you. It's actually a call of sorts, a call to come to the table of a friend, share in a cup of wisdom by way of studying God's word. But, first you must choose to pour out ,empty your cup.
